The CMF Phone 3 Pro is approaching a launch and a new leak gives us an idea about potential specifications and design changes. According to an exclusive report by Android Headlines, the upcoming smartphone is set to bring notable upgrades over its predecessor CMF Phone 2 Pro. Here’s more on what we know based on the report.
As per the exclusive report citing an unnamed source, the CMF Phone 3 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. Notably, the predecessor CMF Phone 2 Pro used the Dimensity 7300 Pro processor making this a significant change in terms of performance and positioning.
The smartphone is expected to pack a battery with a typical capacity of 5,090mAh, while the advertised capacity could range between 5,400mAh and 5,500mAh. This would also be an upgrade over the 5,000mAh battery found in its predecessor.
Charging speeds are also tipped to improve with support for 45W wired fast charging compared to 33W on the CMF Phone 2 Pro. While the previous model supported 5W reverse wired charging but there is no confirmation yet on whether the new device will retain this feature.
In terms of display, the phone is expected to feature an AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2392 x 1080 pixels. It will include a centrally positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera although the exact screen size has not been revealed.
One of the key upgrades highlighted in the leak is the introduction of a metal frame replacing the plastic frame used in the CMF Phone 2 Pro. This change is expected to enhance the overall build quality and premium feel of the device. Android Headline report even includes a “comically bad, hand-drawn sketch of the back of the phone” shared by the source.
The rear camera layout may also see subtle adjustments. The leaked information suggests that the flash position has been changed, while the third camera sensor is now placed slightly farther from the two vertically aligned cameras on the left.
Additionally, improvements to the overall body are expected. The CMF Phone 2 Pro comes with an IP54 rating with limited protection against dust and water. The new model could see enhancements in durability although exact details are yet to be confirmed.
Lastly, about the launch timeline we can say that the previous-generation model was launched on April 28 last year. Based on that, the CMF Phone 3 Pro could debut either later this month or sometime in May. In any case, the company has not officially confirmed a launch date yet.
