Chrome will be retiring the services of its long time partner, Power-saving mode, very soon. Earlier, the lite mode was introduced to enhance the loading speed by compressing the pages. Also, some smartphone owners had tiered data plans and used to charge extra if users exceeded their allotted limit.

With unlimited data plans, people are no longer using the Lite mode as before. Therefore, the company has decided to remove this feature for Android. Moreover, the company has also claimed in a statement that even if they’re removing the lite mode, Chrome still utilizes data-saving features with default settings, which is actually something great!
