The report claims that BOE faced quality and production yield issues related to its lower-temperature polycrystalline oxide-plus (LTPO+) display technology when compared to the South Korean manufacturers. The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to use LTPO+ display technology, which could offer better power efficiency compared to the current LTPO panels used in the iPhone 17 series. The technology may also help improve battery life by allowing finer control over OLED light emission and enabling the display to optimise performance based on surrounding conditions.
