India has been a nation obsessed with films since their inception with the very first release being Raja Harishchandra (1913) by Dadasaheb Phalke, which soon paved way for other great filmmakers in India to come out with their own movies, thereby establishing the foundation of the Indian Film Industry.

In the early days, Calcutta (now Kolkata) was considered the headquarters of Indian Cinema, which soon became Mumbai during the 1940s when Bombay Talkies was the biggest production house at the time.

Soon, all language film industries of India established their own base in various cities with Bombay, later Mumbai became the home ground for Hindi and Marathi Cinema, and today, Indian Cinema is the largest film industry in the world that rolls out a maximum number of films each year.

Nowadays, it is the time of biopics in Bollywood, which has come out with many good and bad ones both in the past and present-day films, with Sardar Udham being the latest blockbuster from Bollywood that starred Vicky Kaushal as Sardar Udham Singh.

Given below, are some important Bollywood biopics that are in the pipeline that viewers can look forward to, which starts their favourite stars.

• Sam Bahadur– Since Vicky Kaushal starred in the last great biopic from Hindi films, we’ll start the list with his upcoming venture. Sam Bahadur is based on Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw, which also starts the Dangal girls, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra, and will be directed by Meghna Gulzar, which will be her second collaboration with Vicky after the immensely successful Raazi (2018)
• Taali– This flick will be based on transgender social activist Gauri Sawant, which is a good enough subject to intrigue anyone and this will be the first time that a female actor will essay a transgender on the screen
• Chakda Xpress– This will be a sports drama directed by Prosit Ray and revolves around Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami, where Anushka Sharma will play her role
• Maidaan– Another sports drama that will star Ajay Devgn based on football coach Syed Abdul Rahim and will take place during 1952-1962, which is considered as the golden era of Indian football
• Pippa– It is going to be a war drama starring Ishan Khatter, who will be essaying the role of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta, a hero of the 1971 Indo-Pak War, who took part in the Battle of Garibpur
• The Good Maharaja– This film will be helmed by Vikash Verma and stars Sanjay Dutt as Digvijaysinhji Ranjitsinhji Jadeja, the Maharaja Jam Sahib of Nawanagar, who saved many polish kids during World War II
• Capsule Gill– Another Akshay Kumar biopic after the disastrous Samrat Prithviraj, it stars Khiladi Kumar as the mining engineer Jaswant Gill, which will be about the coal mining rescue operation in Raniganj where Gill led during the 1989 floods, which will be directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and also feature Parineeti Chopra in an important role
