Ten-minute grocery delivery service has been a gamer changer in the Indian e-commerce space.
Its popularity has allowed multiple players to enter the industry and compete for customers’ trust.
To gain a competitive edge over the other, we see new features and services getting introduced now and then by delivery apps.
The recent new feature that can disrupt the industry once again is being introduced by Blinkit.
The Zomato-owned Blinkit recently announced a new service allowing customers to return or exchange clothing and footwear within 10 minutes of placing a request.
This quick-service initiative aims to address common online shopping issues such as size and fit concerns. It offers a faster solution as compared to traditional fashion e-commerce platforms like Myntra and Ajio.
The co-founder of Blinkit Albinder Dhindsa announced the feature on X (formerly Twitter).
Introducing Easy Returns on Blinkit!
Customers can initiate a return/ exchange in case of a size or fit issue with the delivered product. This solves a crucial problem of size anxiety for categories like clothing and footwear.

Dhindsa emphasised how it could ease the shopping experience for users. “This solves a crucial problem of size anxiety for categories like clothing and footwear,” Dhindsa wrote. He added that the return or exchange would happen within just 10 minutes of the request.
The service was first tested in the Delhi-NCR region and is now available in Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune with more cities expected to follow soon.
Blinkit’s move reflects the broader trend of quick-commerce platforms—like Zepto and Instamart—expanding beyond groceries and everyday essentials into categories like fashion, beauty, electronics, and home appliances.
This change if successful will blur the line between traditional e-commerce companies and quick-commerce.
Returns and exchanges are key for the online fashion industry.
Many studies have shown that 25-30% of fashion purchases are returned due to issues like size or quality.
Blinkit’s fast exchange service could be a game-changer for customers who prioritize convenience and speed.
While Blinkit is the first quick-delivery platform to start this new service, competitor Zepto has also tested fashion exchanges before.
Zepto has tested offering a 72-hour exchange window for apparel delivered in damaged or defective condition.
Blinkit and other such platforms are now expanding their product ranges offering items from well-known brands like Adidas, Pepe, FabIndia, Jockey, Boldfit, XYXX, US Polo Association, Paragon and Liberty.
