iQOO 16, iQOO Pad Ultra Launch Set for September 29 in China, iQOO 16 Colours Revealed

iQOO has finally confirmed the launch date for its upcoming iQOO 16 smartphone and iQOO Pad Ultra tablet in China. The announcement comes shortly after it was confirmed that the iQOO 16 will use Samsung’s latest OLED display and Pad Ultra was also spotted on Geekbench.

iQOO 16, iQOO Pad Ultra Launch Date Confirmed

iQOO announced on Weibo that the iQOO 16 will launch in China on September 29. The launch event will begin at 7:00 pm local time, which is 4:30 pm IST.

The iQOO Pad Ultra will also be introduced at the same event.

iQOO 16 Colour Options Confirmed

Alongside the launch date, iQOO has confirmed three colour options for the iQOO 16, named Chasing Light, Legendary and Racing Track.

The “Chasing Light” version will have a laser holographic finish on the rear panel, combining red and blue hues with a silver background. The “Legendary” variant will use “magnetron sputtering electroplating technology” along with a 670nm thick electroplating film on a white-coloured rear panel.

The “Racing Track” version, meanwhile, takes inspiration from the purple paint used on F1 cars.

iQOO 16 – What To Expect?

iQOO recently revealed that the iQOO 16 will be the world’s first smartphone with a 2K-resolution display supporting a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The phone will feature Samsung’s latest AMOLED panel based on the new M16 luminescent material.

The display will also use Samsung’s second-generation LEAD [Low Power, Eco-Friendly, Augmented Brightness, and Design Slim and Light], or LEAD 2.0, technology. The panel is claimed to offer up to 2,800 nits of global peak brightness and up to 10,000 nits of local peak brightness.

The Samsung M16 AMOLED panel on the iQOO 16 will further support up to 3,300Hz PWM dimming. It will also come with TÜV Rheinland certifications for Global Eye Protection and Unpolarized Light.

The iQOO 16 will also arrive with a redesigned rear camera module and is confirmed to feature a triple-camera setup on the back. According to iQOO, the camera module will use a “robotic arm” design, which visually links the three camera lenses together.

iQOO Pad Ultra – What To Expect?

iQOO Pad Ultra recently appeared on Geekbench to confirm that it will use the SM8975 processor. While the exact processor name was not released, it is believed to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and the tested tablet was paired with 16GB of RAM and Android 17.

The chip is expected to use a 2nm process and has an eight-core CPU setup in this listing. It includes three cores clocked at 3.74GHz, three at 4.03GHz, and two high-performance cores reaching 5.01GHz. Graphics are handled by an Adreno 850 GPU.

iQOO has also confirmed that Pad Ultra will pack a built-in cooling fan capable of reaching up to 14,500rpm. The fan is housed in a compact 30 x 30 x 3.5mm module.

Meanwhile, rumours suggest the iQOO Pad Ultra is a mini tablet with an 8.8-inch OLED display with narrow bezels and could feature a 9,000mAh battery.
