Vivo has revealed the first official images of its upcoming X500 series smartphones. The company is preparing to launch the Vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max in China on September 21. Ahead of the launch, Vivo has already shared several details about the new flagship lineup and the latest images provide a closer look at the design of the X500 Pro Max and X500.

The Vivo X500 Pro Max appears to follow a design similar to last year’s Vivo X300 series. The phone features a flat rear panel with a large, circular camera module positioned centrally towards the top.
The rear camera setup includes three Zeiss-tuned cameras with the Zeiss branding placed in the centre of the circular module. A secondary light sensor is also visible on the rear. Unlike the camera sensors, the LED flash sits outside the camera island in the top-left corner of the dual-tone back panel. Vivo’s branding is placed vertically towards the bottom-left.

The bottom edge of the X500 Pro Max houses a USB Type-C port, SIM tray and speaker grille. There is another speaker grille on the top edge. The phone gets a flat metal frame with the power button and volume controls located on the right side.
400mm Telephoto Extender for X500 Pro Max

The Vivo X500 Pro Max will also work with Vivo’s new telephoto extender kit. The accessory includes a telephoto lens with a 400mm focal length and comes in a silver finish.
The extender features a dedicated capture button as well as a control for zooming in and out. Both the lens and the extender kit carry Zeiss branding, similar to the telephoto accessory introduced with the Vivo X300 Ultra.
Vivo is expected to reveal more information about the accessory and the phone in the coming days.

Vivo X500 Gets a Different Camera Module

The standard Vivo X500 has a noticeably different rear design. It features a large circular camera island positioned towards the left side of the back panel, while the LED flash is placed separately on the right.
The camera setup sits inside a rectangular outer section, giving the design some resemblance to the camera layout seen on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The images show the X500 in white, although Vivo is expected to offer additional colour options when the phone launches.
The circular camera section appears to house three cameras including a large periscope telephoto sensor, a main camera and an ultrawide camera. Zeiss branding is also visible on the module. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge.
The X500 has a flat rear panel with curved edges, which should help make the phone more comfortable to hold. The newly revealed images, however, do not provide any additional hardware specifications.
Vivo X500 Camera and Expected Specifications

According to the available information, Vivo X500 colour options include Sunny Day (white), Earth Echo (silver/grey), Dawn (pink) and Night Photography (black).
It will feature a 50-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor. It is expected to use the Sony LYT-828, which is the same sensor found on the Vivo X300 Pro. The main camera is expected to be joined by a 64-megapixel LYT-610 telephoto camera with CIPA 5.5 stabilisation. The phone may also feature a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. For video recording, the Vivo X500 is expected to support 4K video at 120fps.
The smartphone is also tipped to use a 2nm MediaTek Dimensity 9600 or Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset. More hardware details are expected to emerge ahead of the official launch.
