YouTube Music has launched a new feature called Sound Search for both Android and iOS users.
This tool helps people find songs by humming, singing, or playing a short part of the music.
Sound Search uses artificial intelligence (AI) to match the sounds you make to songs in YouTube Music’s large collection.
The feature was tested with a small group before being made available to everyone.
To use Sound Search, open the YouTube Music app and look for the search bar at the top of the screen.
Next to the microphone icon, you’ll see a new waveform icon.
Tap this icon to start using Sound Search.
Once activated, you can hum, sing, or play a snippet of the song you’re trying to find.
The AI will listen and try to match your input to a song in its database.
After a short wait, you’ll see a list of possible matches.
To get the best results from Sound Search, try to hum or sing as accurately as you can.
The longer you hum or sing, the better chance the AI has of finding the right song.
If you’re not sure about the whole song, try humming the most recognizable part.
When you use Sound Search, you’ll see a colorful page that asks you to “Play, sing, or hum a song.”
This feature builds on similar tools that Google has offered before, like the Now Playing feature on Pixel phones and a humming search option in Google Search.
After the AI finds a match, you’ll see a full-screen result with the song’s cover art, name, artist, album, and year.
You can also see if the song is available for offline listening.
There are quick buttons to play the song or save it to a playlist.
YouTube Music’s Sound Search aims to make it easier for people to find and enjoy music, even when they only remember a small part of a song.
This feature shows how AI technology is being used to improve music streaming services and help users discover new songs.
Open the YouTube Music app, tap the waveform icon next to the search bar, and hum, sing, or play a part of the song you want to identify.
Sound Search can recognize songs from humming, singing, or playing a short part of the track.
The feature is highly accurate, especially if you hum or sing the most recognizable part of the song.
Yes, Sound Search is available for all users with the YouTube Music app on Android and iOS.
You’ll see a full-screen result with the song’s cover art, name, artist, album, and year, along with options to play or save the song.
