Xiaomi EV has officially taken the wraps off its first SUV, the Xiaomi YU7. It is a mid-to-large electric vehicle focused on performance, comfort and cutting-edge design. This is the company’s second EV after the SU7 sedan. Pronounced “YU,” the name is inspired by the Chinese phrase for “riding the wind.” The YU7 is built from the ground up as an SUV, unlike the SU7 sedan. Here’s what we know about the vehicle.
The YU7 measures 4999 mm in length, 1996 mm in width, and 1600 mm in height, with a 3000 mm wheelbase. Its design gives it a sleek and sporty look, backed by the following –

Charging is super fast, thanks to 800V silicon carbide tech. It goes from 10% to 80% charge in 12 minutes and can add 620 km of range in 15 minutes.
The YU7 sits on the Modena Platform, featuring a steel-aluminium hybrid frame with 2200 MPa ultra-high-strength steel, developed using 24 million AI simulations and 4,000 tests, 47,610 N·m/deg torsional rigidity, 659 mm crumple zone and 1500 MPa crossbeam, Bulletproof battery coating 10x stronger than PVC and have passed 50+ crash tests, including rear-end impacts at 90 km/h
The Enhanced door beam strength –
The Four-in-One Domain Control Module combines assisted driving, cockpit, vehicle control, and telematics into one system, reducing the controllers by 75%, space by 57% and the weight by 47% (down to 3.6 kg).
This gives you 16 km more range and 40% less power usage in standby mode. The smart cockpit runs on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip with fast boot times and 15-minute OTA updates. The assisted driving system uses NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor (700 TOPS, Blackwell architecture).

The Xiaomi YU7 SUV will be available starting July 2025, with pricing announced closer to launch. In the meantime, Xiaomi is selling 1:18 scale models of the YU7 –
