With an aim to take on the likes of the upcoming Realme Pad, and also tablets from Vivo and Oppo, Xiaomi is all set to announce Pad 5 in India next week. According to the latest update, Xiaomi will unveil its Pad 5, the first tablet by the Company in India in seven years.
The launch of Xiaomi Pad 5 is happening after a gap of seven years since the launch of Mi Pad in 2015. The Mi Pad was the only tablet that Xiaomi ever launched in India — that came way back in 2015. Xiaomi Pad 5 will be launched in India on April 27 alongside the flagship Xiaomi 12 Pro.
First launched in China, the Xiaomi Pad 5 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship chipset. The tab was also launched in the global market.

An 11-inch WQXGA display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz sampling rate are the features of the global model of the Xiaomi Pad 5. Support for Dolby Vision, HDR10, TrueTone True colour display, TUV Rheinland low blue light hardware scheme certification are other specifications of the Xiaomi Pad 5.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 SoC with Adreno 640 GPU, Xiaomi Pad 5 is coupled with 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The device gets its fuel from an 8720mAh battery that is supported by 33W fast-charging.
On the software front, the tablet boots Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 custom skin out-of-the-box.
The tablet offers Dolby Atmos, USB Type-C audio, and quad speakers. On the connectivity front, the Pad 5 features such as 5G, 4G LTE (optional) dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS.
The Xiaomi Pad 5 also features a single 13-megapixel shooter on the rear panel and an 8-megapixel sensor on the front for selfies and video calls.
In the global market, the 6GB + 128GB Wi-Fi version of Xiaomi Pad 5 starts at RMB 1,999, which is around Rs 24,000. While the 6GB + 256GB Wi-Fi model goes up to RMB 2,299, which is around Rs 27,600. The Indian prices is expected to be affordable since other brands like Realme, Oppo and Vivo are also gearing up to launch their tabs in India soon.
