Xiaomi could be preparing to launch a new compact high-end tablet in global markets. The device in question is the Redmi K Pad, which was recently introduced in China with flagship-level specifications. According to new leaks, this model may be rebranded and released internationally as the Xiaomi Pad Mini. Here’s everything we know so far.
The latest leak comes from known tipster account Experience More on Weibo. The post says Xiaomi is reportedly planning to bring the Redmi K Pad to more regions outside China, but with a different name. The tablet may be introduced globally as the Xiaomi Pad Mini, positioning it as a direct competitor to devices like the iPad Mini.
While there may be minor differences between the Chinese and global models, the core high-end specifications are expected to remain unchanged.
The leak, however, doesn’t include any detailed information about the features of the global variant or its expected release timeline. In any case, the Redmi K Pad was recently spotted on the TDRA and IMDA certification databases, which suggests that an official announcement might be close.
Given that the Xiaomi Pad Mini could essentially be a rebranded Redmi K Pad, we already have a good idea of its specifications. The Redmi K Pad features an 8.8-inch LCD display with a 3K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate.
Powering the tablet is the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset, coupled with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X/T RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The device is backed by a 7,500mAh battery that supports 67W wired fast charging. Camera-wise, it offers a 13MP rear shooter with an LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. Additional features include Dolby Atmos-enabled stereo speakers, dual USB-C ports and HyperOS 2 based on Android 15.
