The Xiaomi Buds 6 feature a semi-in-ear design that prioritises comfort and lightweight construction. Each earbud weighs around 4.4 grams.

Xiaomi has implemented a biomimetic curved shape to improve comfort during long listening sessions. Compared to the previous generation, the earbud stem is 12 percent narrower, while the sound nozzle is 11.3 percent thinner. The contact area has also been increased by 8.8 percent to help distribute pressure more evenly across the ear, reducing fatigue over extended use.

The charging case adopts a compact, pebble-like form factor that sits comfortably in the hand. The Nebula Purple colour option stands out with a special reflective finish, giving the earbuds a more premium look.

Xiaomi Buds 6 – Key Features

At the core of the Xiaomi Buds 6 is a custom triple-magnet dynamic driver system with a 24K gold-plated diaphragm. According to Xiaomi, this setup improves low-frequency sensitivity by 40 percent and enhances high-frequency sensitivity by 30 percent. The earbuds support a wide frequency response ranging from 16Hz to 40kHz, aiming to deliver a well-balanced audio experience across bass, mids, and treble.

Xiaomi has collaborated with Harman’s Golden Ear team to fine-tune the sound profile. The Buds 6 offers Harman AudioEFX for clearer vocals and a Master mode designed to add warmth and deeper bass. Users also get access to EQ presets and custom sound tuning through the Xiaomi Earbuds app. The earbuds support 24-bit/48kHz audio at bitrates of up to 2.1Mbps and are compatible with SBC, AAC, aptX Adaptive, and aptX Lossless codecs. Additional certifications include Snapdragon Sound and Hi-Res Audio Wireless.

The Xiaomi Buds 6 come equipped with active noise cancellation along with a three-microphone AI-based noise reduction system. Xiaomi claims the system can effectively handle wind noise at speeds of up to 12m/s. The earbuds also support spatial audio with built-in head tracking, delivering immersive surround sound without the need for external accessories.

The Buds 6 support independent audio recording using either the earbuds or the charging case, even when the case is closed. When paired with compatible Xiaomi devices, users can access advanced features such as real-time transcription, AI-generated summaries, face-to-face translation, and simultaneous interpretation. For tracking and security, the earbuds are compatible with both Xiaomi Find and Apple Find My services.

In terms of battery performance, the Xiaomi Buds 6 offer up to 6 hours of playback on a single charge with active noise cancellation turned off, extending to up to 35 hours when used with the charging case. With ANC enabled, battery life drops to around 3.5 hours on a single charge and up to 20 hours with the case. The earbuds charge via a USB Type-C port and feature an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
