Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 18 Fold in China, after teasing the foldable phone for the last few weeks. The company’s latest foldable combines two high-refresh-rate LTPO OLED displays with the new XRING O3 chipset, Leica cameras, a large battery and a slim design.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is also among the first smartphones to feature LPDDR6 memory with the top-end 16GB RAM and 1TB storage configuration using the newer memory standard. Here is everything you need to know about Xiaomi’s latest foldable phone.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold features a 7.58-inch internal display with a 2364 × 1672 resolution. It is a Pol-less LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The inner screen can reach a peak brightness of 4,000 nits at 30% APL, while its HBM brightness is rated at 2,200 nits. Xiaomi has also used dual-layer Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) protection for the foldable panel.

When folded, users get a 5.38-inch external display. It has a 1712 × 1168 resolution and also supports a 120Hz refresh rate with LTPO OLED technology. The outer screen can reach up to 4,000 nits peak brightness at 30% APL and 2,200 nits HBM brightness. It is protected by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0.

Despite its large screens and hardware, the Xiaomi 18 Fold has a slim and lightweight design. It measures just 5.02mm when unfolded and 10.68mm when folded. The phone weighs 219 grams.

The new Xiaomi foldable is powered by the company’s XRING O3 chipset that comes paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The top-end configuration uses LPDDR6 memory, while other variants combine LPDDR5X RAM with UFS 4.1 storage.

Photography is another major highlight of the Xiaomi 18 Fold. The foldable features Leica optics and a Leica Summilux lens system. At the back, the phone has a triple-camera setup led by a 200-megapixel HP5 primary sensor. The main camera uses a large 1/1.56-inch sensor supports optical image stabilisation (OIS) and has a 23mm focal length.

The main camera is accompanied by a 50-megapixel OV50D ultra-wide sensor with a 1/2.88-inch size and a 17mm focal length. The third camera is a 50-megapixel JN5 periscope telephoto sensor. It offers 3.5x optical zoom, uses a 1/2.75-inch sensor and has an 80mm focal length.

For selfies and video calls, the Xiaomi 18 Fold features 16-megapixel cameras on both the internal and external displays.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold packs a 6,000mAh battery. It supports 67W wired fast charging and also offers 50W wireless charging, giving users two options for charging the foldable.

On the software side, the smartphone runs Android 17 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4 interface and carries an IPX8 rating for water resistance. Other features include an IR blaster, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port.

For wireless connectivity, the Xiaomi 18 Fold supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and UWB.

Xiaomi has launched the 18 Fold in several configurations in China. The base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at 10,999 yuan. The 12GB+512GB variant costs 11,999 yuan, while the 16GB+512GB version is priced at 12,999 yuan. The top-end model with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage featuring LPDDR6 memory costs 14,999 yuan.

Xiaomi has also introduced a special Ceramic Edition of the 16GB+1TB LPDDR6 model, which carries a price tag of 15,999 yuan.
