According to tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo, Xiaomi is preparing to open reservations for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra between December 15 and December 25. If accurate, this points to an official launch on December 26. The source notes that the original leak has since been modified, but the updated timeline still aligns with Xiaomi’s typical release pattern.
The report also claims that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be priced similarly to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra in China. For comparison, the previous-generation model started at CNY 6,499 (roughly Rs. 78,000) for the 12GB + 256GB variant, while the top-end 16GB + 1TB version was priced at CNY 7,799 (about Rs. 93,000).
Based on this, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to launch with the same pricing structure and configurations, though official confirmation is still awaited.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will join the Xiaomi 17 family, which already includes the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. Like the rest of the lineup, the Ultra model is rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite SoC.
The phone is tipped to feature a Leica-calibrated quad rear camera setup with a 200-megapixel periscope main sensor, accompanied by three 50-megapixel sensors. It may sport a 6.8-inch 2K LTPO display and could feature a 3D-printed titanium alloy middle frame for added durability.
The battery is expected to fall between 7,000mAh and 7,500mAh with support for 50W wireless charging.
