OPPO appears to be preparing to introduce another affordable 5G smartphone in India. A recent exclusive report by 91Mobiles, citing information shared by tipster Sanju Choudhary, suggests that the upcoming OPPO A6s 5G could debut in the country on or before March 20.
The handset made its global debut in January 2026 with a 6.75-inch 120Hz LCD screen, Dimensity 6300 chipset, 7,000mAh battery, faster 80W wired charging and an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. However, compared to the global version, the Indian variant is expected to be slightly scaled back in terms of features. Here are more details.
The Indian version of the OPPO A6s 5G is tipped to feature a 6.75-inch LCD panel with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is also said to deliver peak brightness levels of up to 1,125 nits, a combination that is now becoming fairly common in budget 5G smartphones.
Powering the device could be the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. This chipset is frequently used in entry-level 5G phones and is typically designed to handle routine tasks.
The phone is said to pack a 6,500mAh battery along with support for 45W fast charging. While this battery is slightly smaller than the one found in the global model, it still offers a sizeable capacity for the price category and could appeal to users who prefer longer battery endurance.
On the camera front, the smartphone is expected to feature a dual rear camera system. The setup will likely include a 50-megapixel main sensor accompanied by a 2-megapixel secondary lens.
Apart from the internal specifications, the design of the Indian model also appears to be different from its global counterpart. Based on teaser visuals, the Indian variant resembles the OPPO A6x 5G and features a simpler camera arrangement.
Instead of a large camera module, the phone appears to have two prominent circular camera rings placed directly on the rear panel, along with a small LED flash. The back panel design looks flatter and cleaner, giving it a straightforward budget smartphone appearance. The teaser images also highlight glossy finishes aimed at making the colours stand out in the affordable segment.
In comparison, the global variant uses a square-shaped camera island positioned in the top-left corner of the rear panel. This module houses both cameras and the flash inside a raised rectangular block, giving the phone a slightly more premium look.
The global model is offered in Cappuccino Brown and Ice White colours, with the Ice White variant featuring a subtle textured pattern across the back. For the Indian market, the device is expected to arrive in Aurora Gold and Plum Purple colour options.
