The Xiaomi 14 series is the next generation of flagship smartphones that will likely launch around the end of this year. But ahead of any official announcement, a new leak has hinted at the higher end Xiaomi 14 Pro model arriving in two different versions.
Xiaomi 14 Pro could launch in a flat & Curved Display Variant
For those unaware, the Chinese tech giant is expected to launch the Xiaomi 14 series sometime between November and December this year and will likely include a base Xiaomi 14 and a Xiaomi 14 Pro model.
While there have been rumors regarding their specifications, the latest information arrives from known tipster Digital Chat Station that shared that the details regarding this higher end Pro model’s design.
Apparently, the company’s upcoming premium phone will feature a 2.5D large flat display.
This panel will also feature a middle frame that has a right angle shape. In other words, the 14 Pro will arrive in at least one variant that has a flat display. The tipster further added that there will also be one variant that has a 3D curved panel and slim bezels on all four sides.
The leak states that the chin on the bottom will also measure just 1mm in thickness. Meaning, we can expect to see a near all display design on the next gen flagship.
Based on what we know so far, the smartphone will likely be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
A previous leak had also hinted that a large 5,000mAh battery pack that will support 50W wireless charging. It was even claimed that the device will offer two different wired fast charging rates, which includes a 90W and 120W version.
So, the flat and curved models might have a varied charging speeds as well.
Xiaomi 14 Pro Tipped Specifications
The latest post from DCS reveals that the 14 Pro devices will be offered in two variants. Xiaomi will launch the smartphone with a flat and curved display panel. The OEM will use 2.5D glass for the variant with a flat display.
The panel with a right-angle shape will also sport a middle frame. In contrast, the variant with a 3D curved panel will have slim bezels all around the display.
The tipster also adds that the chin on the device will have a thickness of 1mm. Tipster Ice Universe revealed that Xiaomi will bring major changes to display with the Xiaomi 14 Pro device. His render reveals a curved panel with extremely slim bezels all around the display.
The render also reveals that the display is a centred punch-hole to house the selfie camera. Xiaomi is aiming to offer a complete display experience with its upcoming smartphone.
Previously, Digital Chat Station revealed that Xiaomi will equip the device with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The chipset will continue using TSMC’s 4nm process and offer better performance over Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Recently, the upcoming chipset was listed in GeekBench 3.0, which scored 2723 points in single-core tests and 7525 points in multi-core tests. There are reports the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series smartphones would be the first to sport the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
The device will be backed by a large 5000 mAh battery which supports 50W wireless charging tech. Xiaomi will launch the smartphones in two variants with 90W and 120W wired fast charging support.
The reports indicate that the flat display variant will feature support for 90W, and the curved display to sport 120W support. The device is expected to run on MIUI 15 on top of Android 14 out of the box.
