Vivo recently launched affordable 5G devices like the Vivo Y21 5G and Vivo Y11 5G in India with prices starting at ₹14,999. Now, fresh reports suggest that Vivo is preparing to introduce two new smartphones namely the Vivo Y500 5G and Vivo Y500 4G soon. Listings for both devices have surfaced online indicating that official teasers from the brand could begin soon. Here’s what we know so far.
According to a recent report by techblogger PassionateGeekz, both Vivo Y500 5G and Y500 4G have appeared in the IMEI database.
The Vivo Y500 5G carries the model number V2572 and the Vivo Y500 4G has been listed with the model number V2570. However, neither of these devices has received BIS certification yet, which suggests that their India launch may still be some time away. The phones are expected to debut globally first followed by their arrival in the Indian market.
Vivo Y500 5G has already been launched in China. So, even though there is no official confirmation, the Indian and global variants are expected to carry similar specifications.
In China, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset. It stands out with a massive 8200mAh battery paired with 90W fast charging and reverse charging support. If the same battery capacity is retained in the Indian variant, it would mark a significant upgrade over the 6000mAh battery seen on the Vivo Y400 5G, which also supports 90W fast charging.
The smartphone features a 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. In terms of optics, it comes with a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor along with an 8-megapixel front camera.
Additionally, the device carries IP68, IP69, and IP69+ ratings, offering strong protection against water and dust. It measures 8.23mm in thickness and weighs around 213 grams.
With multiple new devices in the pipeline, Vivo appears to be strengthening its Y-series portfolio. More details about the Vivo Y500 5G and Y500 4G are expected to emerge in the coming weeks as the company gears up for their official launch.
