Vivo is reportedly preparing to launch the Vivo X500 series later this year. New leaks have now revealed key details about the Vivo X500 Pro model. According to recent reports, the Vivo X500 lineup is expected to include three smartphones with different display sizes. While the official names are yet to be confirmed, the devices are currently speculated to launch as the Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro (or Pro Mini), and Vivo X500 Pro Max.
Tipster Digital Chat Station has now shared details regarding the chipset and camera setup of the Vivo X500 Pro through a post on Weibo.
As per the leak, the Vivo X500 Pro is currently being tested with MediaTek’s upcoming 2nm Dimensity 9600 series processor. The device is also said to be among only two compact “Pro” flagship smartphones expected to arrive later this year.
The leak further reveals that the engineering prototype of the Vivo X500 Pro could feature a triple rear camera setup.
The smartphone is tipped to include a 50-megapixel primary camera with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor and LOFIC technology along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. In addition, the phone may also come equipped with a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offering around 3x optical zoom.
Although some users speculated that the 64-megapixel periscope camera could use the OmniVision OV64B sensor, which has appeared on several smartphones in recent years, tipster Digital Chat Station reportedly clarified that Vivo will instead use Sony’s newer IMX06H sensor for the telephoto camera.
The latest leak also hints that the rumoured 200-megapixel camera may remain exclusive to the higher-end Vivo X500 Pro Max variant. As per reports, it is expected to function as the periscope telephoto sensor.
Other reports suggest that the Vivo X500 Pro may feature a 6.37-inch flat OLED LTPO display with support for 1.5K resolution. The smartphone is also expected to pack a battery larger than 7,000mAh.
On the software side, the device is tipped to run Android 17 with OriginOS 7 out of the box that making it one of Vivo’s next-generation flagship offerings.
