Xiaomi is all set to launch Xiaomi 17T in India on June 4. However, that might not be the only launch on the cards for the company. Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is reportedly preparing to launch multiple new smartphones in India next month. A new report by SmartPrix suggests that the Redmi Turbo 5 could launch in India on June 18. The report also claims that Redmi may unveil another smartphone monikered the Redmi 17 alongside the Turbo 5.
According to the leaked details, the Redmi 17 is expected to feature an LCD display with support for a high refresh rate. However, the exact screen specifications are still under wraps. It remains unclear whether the device will use the same 6.9-inch Full HD+ LCD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate that was previously seen on the Redmi 15.
Under the hood, the Redmi 17 is tipped to be powered by a Snapdragon 4-series processor.
Although the exact chipset name has not been revealed yet, there is speculation that the smartphone could feature Qualcomm’s recently announced Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, which debuted last month.
The smartphone is also expected to run HyperOS based on Android 16 out of the box. In terms of cameras, the Redmi 17 may feature a 50-megapixel primary rear camera along with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
One of the major highlights of the Redmi 17 could be its battery capacity, as the report suggests the device may pack a battery larger than 7,000mAh. However, details related to charging speeds have not surfaced yet.
Meanwhile, the specifications of the Redmi Turbo 5 are already known since the device made its debut earlier this year in China.
The smartphone is also expected to arrive as a rebranded version of the Poco X8 Pro in certain markets.
The Redmi Turbo 5 is tipped to feature a 6.58-inch display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset and may pack a massive 7,560mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.
For photography, the device is likely to feature a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary lens. On the front, the phone may include a 20-megapixel selfie camera.
