Vivo is expected to introduce its next-generation Vivo X500 flagship smartphone series in China this September. As the anticipated launch draws closer, the upcoming devices have started appearing on certification platforms. In the latest development, two new Vivo smartphones believed to belong to the Vivo X500 series or the iQOO 16 lineup have received radio certification in China.

According to China’s SRRC certification database, two Vivo smartphones carrying the model numbers V2606A and V2609A have been certified. The listings indicate that both devices support the n79 5G band and are expected to feature ultra-high refresh rate displays pointing towards their premium positioning.
While the official names of these smartphones have not been confirmed, they are believed to be part of the upcoming Vivo X500 series or the iQOO 16 lineup.
More certifications and leaks are expected in the coming weeks, which should reveal their final marketing names. The appearance of these devices on the certification platform also suggests they could make their official debut in China as early as September.
Vivo X500 Series Launch Timeline
The Vivo X500 series is rumoured to include several models namely the Vivo X500e, Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro, Vivo X500 Pro Max, and Vivo X500 Ultra. Current reports suggest that the Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro, and Vivo X500 Pro Max could launch in September, while the Vivo X500e and Vivo X500 Ultra are expected to arrive during the first half of 2026.
Adding to the speculation, the global variant of the Vivo X500 Pro Max was recently spotted on Indonesia’s TKDN certification platform hinting that its international launch could also be on the horizon. However, the remaining X500 series models have yet to appear on global certification websites.
Meanwhile, the global version of the iQOO 16 had previously surfaced in the IMEI database with the model number I2601. Despite that, a recent report claimed that iQOO may not introduce the smartphone in India this year.
Since there is no official confirmation yet, it is advisable to wait for additional reports and certifications before drawing any conclusions.
