One of the biggest highlights of the Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z is the large 7,200mAh battery paired with 44W fast charging support. The phones also feature IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. Vivo is promoting the devices with “6-year long-life battery” and “5-star drop and shock resistance certification” claims continuing the recent trend of highlighting durability features in affordable smartphones.

For photography, the devices include an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls, while the rear houses a 50MP primary camera.

Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication, NFC support, and an infrared (IR) blaster that can be used to control compatible home appliances.

With the Vivo G5i and Vivo G5z, the company is focusing on users who prioritise battery life and essential smartphone features over flagship-grade cameras or high-end performance. The combination of chipset and the massive battery should make them capable devices for everyday use.
