Smartphone brand Vivo in collaboration with Protean (formerly known as NSDL), announced a fresh phase of the ‘vivo For Education’ program today. As part of this phase, the company will provide 100 Vivo smartphones worth Rs 10 lakhs and a cash scholarship worth Rs 1.5 lakhs to support education of 100 underprivileged kids.
Aligned with Government of India’s objective to support education, the program aims to bridge the social and fiscal divide and support students from low-income families to continue their education. The activity will equip children with a smartphone that can help them achieve an enriching learning experience even through online distance learning amid challenging times.
Yogendra Sriramula, Director, Brand Strategy, Vivo India, said, “In this time of distance learning, smartphones are a lifeline to students. As a brand, we strongly believe that technology can simplify work, help education and knowledge acquisition, support passions and beyond. We are delighted to find ways to help more and more students realize their dreams. We endeavour to bring joy in their learning and a smile on their faces.”
Driven by the purpose to create a world of joy through superior yet simplified technology and experiences, the brand’s offerings help users capture joyful moments and have made it a leader in the Indian market.
Under this leg of the initiative, students who are studying in class 11 presently will be provided with a Vivo smartphone and a cash scholarship.
