The new handset arrives as the successor to the Vivo S1, which debuted in India in 2019 as a budget smartphone. Unlike its predecessor, the Vivo S2 targets a different segment with upgraded hardware, a premium AMOLED display, a large battery, and a MediaTek Dimensity chipset.
Commenting on the launch, Geetaj Channana, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Vivo India, said, “The smartphone market has evolved significantly, with young consumers increasingly seeking premium experiences without stepping into flagship price segments. The return of the S Series reflects our response to this shift. The vivo S2 has been thoughtfully crafted for young consumers who value style, creativity, intelligent experiences, and meaningful innovation. With its premium design and advanced imaging capabilities, the vivo S2 delivers a well-rounded experience that complements today’s dynamic lifestyles.
