Vivo recently launched Vivo S17e silently in the Chinese market ahead of the launch of other Vivo S17 series smartphones. The company confirmed that it would launch Vivo S17 series smartphones on May 31 in China.
Apart from Vivo S17e, the series would consist of Vivo S17, Vivo S17 Pro, and Vivo S17t. Recently, we spotted the vanilla Vivo S17 and Vivo S17 Pro smartphones in the GeekBench listing.
Previously, the TENAA listing of the smartphone revealed the complete specifications of the smartphone. Ahead of the launch, Vivo has officially revealed the key specifications of the Vivo S17 Pro smartphone.
The S17 Pro smartphone is expected to launch in global markets, including India, as Vivo V29 Pro. Recently, Vivo India revealed that the launch of the Vivo V29 Pro smartphone is scheduled for June.
Vivo S17 Pro: Officially Confirmed and Tipped Specifications
Vivo revealed that the Pro variant would feature a large 50MP front camera placed at the centred punch-hole. The sensor will have a class-leading field of view of 90 degrees.
It is also equipped with f/2.0 aperture and AI support for various features.
Vivo will likely source the front camera sensor from Samsung, which would be the JN1 sensor. The front camera will be assisted by dual LED flashlights placed on the bezels for better photography at night.
The company had revealed that the device would feature a triple-rear camera setup with support for an LED flash. The camera layout will also feature a ring light to enhance the video-shooting capabilities of the device.
The teaser also reveals that the telephoto sensor will support 2x optical zoom. Vivo hasn’t revealed any other specifications of the smartphone at the moment. Previously, we had spotted the smartphone in the Google Supported Device list with the model number V2284A, and it confirmed the moniker.
The TENAA listing revealed that the device will sport a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Underneath, it will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G processor, which is built on a 6nm process.
The chipset will pair up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage in China. Vivo would limit the international variants with up to 8/12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It would run on Origin OS 3 based on Android 13 out of the box in China.
The triple-rear camera setup will include a primary 50MP Sony IMX 766 sensor with support for OIS. The setup will be paired with a secondary 8MP Sony IMX 355 ultra-wide-angle lens and a tertiary 12MP Sony IMX 663 telephoto lens. The device will have a 164.18 x 74.37 x 7.46mm dimension and weigh around 188 grams.
The Vivo S17 Pro smartphone will be backed by a 4600mAh battery which will support 80W fast charging tech. Vivo will equip the device with an in-display fingerprint scanner and an IR blaster.

Vivo has confirmed to launch its S17 series on the 31st of May 2023 in China and the company has now revealed few of the camera features the upcoming devices are to have.
Vivo S17 Series Camera Features Revealed
The Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer, Vivo has already launched its S17e smartphone in its home market, in China and has confirmed to launch the other smartphones of the S17 series on the 31st of May, 2023.
The S17 Pro and the S17 smartphones are the two expected devices to be launched. The Vivo S17t, another smartphone of the series might also be making its appearance in the Chinese market along with the S17 and S17 Pro smartphones.
Vivo’s S17 series will be featuring a 50MP front facing camera with industry’s best 90 degree field of view and a super large aperture of f/2.0. At its front, the S17 series will also be having dual LED flashlights.
Coming to its rear, the camera module will house a professional telephoto portrait lens with 2x close-up zoom.
The S17 series will also have an ultra-sensing spectral sensor and will feature the industry’s best 13 color channels with no color cast.
With its launch that is to take place soon, we’ll be able to know more about the smartphone and its other camera features.

Ans) Vivo tested some of its smartphones on Geekbench. After a benchmark run by the vivo’s iQOO Neo 7 Pro, a Vivo-branded phone – Vivo S17 – was spotted on the benchmarking website. As expected, Geekbench reveals some of the key specifications coming with the smartphone. The newly-spotted phone boasts the Vivo V2283 model number and has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ in tow.
Vivo S17 passes by Geekbench
The alleged Vivo S17 was listed on Geekbench with the “Lahaina” codename. Judging by the CPU specs and the Adreno 642L GPU, it’s easy to confirm this as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778+. It’s a powerful mid-range chipset with 4 x ARM Cortex-A78 cores and a GPU that is capable of handling demanding games without issues. Interestingly, the benchmark also confirms a generous amount of RAM – about 12 GB. Finally, the phone runs Android 13 OS, which means Funtouch OS 13 for global markets and OriginOS 3 for China.
S17 Pro camera details have been tipped
We expect Vivo to confirm the chipset soon for the Vivo S17, after all, the brand already began the teasing campaign for these devices. Today, Vivo’s official Weibo page started to tease some of the details of the Vivo S17 Pro. The brand revealed that the phone will bring an LED flash that can light up at different temperatures. It will also bring two front-facing LED flashes that fit on the phone’s top bezel. These will light up when you wish to take selfies in dark environments. The Vivo S17 Pro is confirmed with a 50 MP shooter for selfies and video calls.
It’s not surprising to see a 50 MP front-facing camera on the Vivo S17. After all, this lineup has a recurring story of super-capable selfie cameras. We also expect this camera to bring a wide field of view to compensate for the lack of an ultrawide camera. The teasers also suggest that the portrait shooter is a 2x telephoto camera. Additionally, the phone is equipped with some sort of “super-sensing spectral sensor” that should allow for better color rendition. Unfortunately, Vivo is yet to give further details that explain this technology.
The Vivo S17 and S17 Pro will hit the Chinese market on May 31. The Vivo S17 and Pro should reach other markets at some point as the Vivo V28 and V28 Pro, respectively.
