Valve has recently unveiled an upgraded version of their popular Steam Deck, introducing the Steam Deck OLED.
While it’s important to note that this isn’t the much-anticipated Steam Deck 2, which isn’t expected until at least 2025, the new model comes with several noteworthy improvements, including a significant battery life enhancement and an OLED display.
Valve has also introduced a limited edition Steam Deck OLED with a unique translucent design.
This special version, available exclusively in a 1TB configuration, is limited to customers in the United States and Canada.
The Steam Deck OLED is set to be available in two storage options: 512GB and 1TB, priced at $549 and $649, respectively.
Pre-orders are expected to open next week.
Alongside this, Valve announced price reductions for its existing LCD models, phasing out the 64GB and 512GB versions.
The 256GB LCD model will now be priced at $399, reduced from its previous $529.
As of now, details regarding the availability of the Steam Deck OLED in markets like India remain unclear.
The Steam Deck OLED upgrades include a larger 7.4-inch HDR OLED display and a new 50Wh battery, improving battery life by 30 to 50 percent. However, it does not feature any significant performance upgrades from the previous model.
Yes, the Steam Deck OLED offers enhanced display quality with its OLED screen, which supports a 90Hz refresh rate and maintains a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, providing a more vibrant visual experience.
