While Cook in his X’s post didn’t confirm the model name, there have been contradictory reports in the past regarding the moniker of the next SE model. Some reports have suggested that Apple might introduce the new iPhone SE as a part of the iPhone 16 lineup. Popular Tipster Majin Bu previously claimed in a post on X that Apple’s new iPhone SE might be named the iPhone 16E.
Based on what my source has reported, it seems that the new iPhone that Apple will unveil in 2025 will not be called iPhone SE4, but iPhone 16E. This new model is expected to bring major design and hardware upgrades. That said, there is a chance Apple will likely stick with the name “iPhone SE” just as it has with previous models.
In any case, here’s what we know about the upcoming iPhone SE 4 for far.

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to take design cues from the iPhone 14, which means a big departure from previous SE models could be on the cards.
Here’s what to expect based on rumours and speculations making headlines so far –
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to launch at $499, which will place it in competition with the upcoming Google Pixel 9a set to arrive a month later. Apple is targeting budget-conscious buyers in key markets like the US, Canada, China and India.
Besides the iPhone SE 4, the February 19 event might also include launches for other products like the M4 MacBook Air, M3 iPad Air and iPad 11.
