In spite of this, it still faces considerable competition in a packed mid-segment.

The OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite comes with a 6.72 inch display, which is LCD but has a higher 144 Hz refresh rate.
What makes it special is a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex 4 processor, and a very good 50 megapixel primary camera.
Keeping it running is a 7000 mAh battery with support for 45W charging.
Of course, it comes with the popular OxygenOS interface., which many prefer to the HyperOS found on the Redmi Note 17 5G.
Nothing Phone (4b): The most note-able threat

Nothing’s latest phone, the Nothing Phone (4b) is easily the most ‘notable’ phone in the Redmi Note 17 5G’s price segment in terms of appearance.
Its industrial design sets it apart and while it does not have an elaborate LED light indicator system (Glyph UI) on the back, it still has a very visible Glyph Bar which attracts attention.
The phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, has a beautiful AMOLED display, and a 50 megapixel main camera as well as a 16 megapixel front facing camera.
It comes with a relatively clean interface, which is something very rare in this price segment, where bloatware is all too common.
Its 5200 mAh battery is smaller than the massive 8000 mAh one on the Note 17, but this still remains the phone that stands out in the crowd in its segment, thanks to its very solid spec and look combo, which many might feel comfortable paying a little extra for.
iQoo Z11x: The segment’s gaming boss

A competitor which packs a powerful processor punch as compared to the Redmi Note 17 5G is the iQoo Z11x. The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Turbo, a chipset which will not only see you through everyday smartphone tasks but can also handle some high-end games, with a few tweaks.
The phone also comes with a good 50 megapixel main sensor on the back and a 32 megapixel sensor on the front, and a large 7200 mAh battery.
Where it loses out to the Note 17 5G is in having a LCD display, but it still remains a very good option for those prizing power and chasing gaming on a budget (it comes with a lower price tag!).
