Tecno appears to be preparing the launch of its upcoming mid-range smartphone, the Tecno Pova 8 5G. After being spotted on the TUV certification platform with a large battery, the device has now surfaced on the Google Play Console database. According to reports, the database appearance reveals key details about its processor, display, RAM and software.
The Google Play Console listing suggests that the Tecno Pova 8 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset. Although the chipset name is not explicitly mentioned, the presence of model number MT6858 along with the listed CPU and GPU configurations strongly indicates that the device uses the Dimensity 7100.
This aligns with a recent Geekbench listing, where the handset was seen running the same chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and Android 16. The Play Console entry further confirms these RAM and operating system specifications.
On the display front, the listing includes a front image that indicates a flat screen design with rounded corners. The display is expected to support a 1080 x 2344 pixels FHD+ resolution along with a pixel density of 420dpi suggesting a sharp visual experience.
Earlier certification details from TUV revealed that the Tecno Pova 8 5G could pack a massive 7,750mAh battery making it one of the standout features of the device. However, information regarding its charging speed or technology remains undisclosed at this stage.
Tecno is yet to officially confirm the device or its launch timeline. Although with appearances across multiple platforms including certification sites, Geekbench and the Google Play Console, the Tecno Pova 8 5G seems close to its official debut.
The large battery capacity could give the device a significant edge over rivals especially for heavy users and mobile gamers seeking extended usage. In India, the smartphone is expected to be priced around Rs 20,000 that places it in the competitive mid-range 5G segment.
