Motorola Edge 20 launch today

Motorola Edge 20 and Motorola Edge 20 Fusion are launching in India today, August 17, at 12pm. Recently, the pricing of both these smartphones was also leaked online. As per which, the Motorola Edge 20 will go for Rs 29,999, whereas the Motorola Edge 20 Fusion will ship at a starting price of Rs 21,499. Though, pricing and availability for the two new phones will be unveiled at launch and they will be available for purchase via Flipkart.

Asus ROG Phone 5s, Asus ROG Phone 5s Pro launched

Asus ROG Phone 5s series is now official. The new gaming device is offered in two models – the vanilla ROG Phone 5 and the ROG Phone 5s Pro. These smartphones come with the latest 5G-enabled Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset. Both models have been listed on company’s official website, with confirmation about availability for the mainland China and Taiwanese regions. Asus ROG Phone 5s price in Taiwan is set as TWD 29,990 (about Rs 80,000) for the 16GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The second variant with 18GB RAM and 512GB internal storage costs TWD 33,990 (roughly Rs 90,000).

Xiaomi Mi Band 6 launching on August 26

The smartphone brand Xiaomi is announcing its Mi Smarter Living event in India on August 26 and will launch the new Mi Band 6 and a bunch of other products on the same day. The company took to micro-blogging site Twitter to announce the date. As per the reports, Xiaomi India’s Chief Business Officer, Raghu Reddy confirmed that at least two of these products will be the new models of the Mi Notebook and the much-awaited Mi Band 6. In addition to this, the company can launch around five to six new products on the same day.

Facebook announces end-to-end encryption for voice and video calls

Voice and video calling on Facebook messenger are about to get a bit safer as the company has announced that it has finally started rolling out end-to-end encryption for voice and video calls. Encryption is a type of protection that makes sure your message can only be seen by its sender and its recipient. The feature, which is already available to users for one-on-one text chats on Messenger, will now offer an extra layer of protection when users make video and audio calls.

Twitter readjusts contrast on buttons after complaints of eye strain

After users’ complaints of eye strains, migraines and headaches due to the Twitter’s latest design updates, the social media platform has announced that it is going to readjust the contrast of its buttons. The micro-blogging site had announced certain visual changes for its website and app including a new font ‘Chirp’ earlier this week. It had also updated its colours to be high contrast and a lot less blue.
