Truth! The world is advancing through technology, even as you are reading this piece the world is swamped with being a step closer to being technologically advanced. Just in this same light, it was discovered Minecraft Game has created a virtual model of the Taj mahal that shares a strikingly similar appearance to the real and classic build. Here we are bombarded with numerous questions and queries about this Minecraft concept. The explanation of this is simple yet interesting. The Minecraft game came up with the idea to spread sanity and entertainment during the regulation of strict lockdowns across different parts of the world due to the massive spread of the Covid-19 virus. The project is called ‘Build the Earth’ where the creators made it possible under restricted meeting scenarios to recreate the 1:1 replica of our planet Earth on the Minecraft gaming app. The aim is not a high-end idea, it’s just a simple initiative by the respective team to jot down the monumental achievements and wonders in all their glory of the planet on the virtual platform so that it can be witnessed by generations to come. Adding to this the project representative Andrew Krug conveyed his idea behind this initiative “the best part about the project is that it allows people to see how amazing the planet really is, To see the places you have seen in real life in the game—or, for that matter, the places you haven’t yet—is a surreal experience.”

Under this project, the Build the Earth located Taj Mahal was created by one of the team members called Daniel. It took him three months to stand in the quiet reflection of one of the 7 wonders of the world by visiting the place virtually on the internet and knowing the dimensions of the monument till its nook and corners. What went into creating the strikingly similar image of the real Taj Mahal? The ‘Build the Earth’ is created on a 1:1 scale which means one block in Minecraft is roughly equivalent to one meter in the real setting of the world, which lays the meaning that this project will be entirely created on the virtual platform with a similar size of our planet. Hence, now the digital existence of the Taj Mahal inside the game is just another landmark, the monument registered in history had been built in 1648 by Mughal ruler Shah Jehan as a memorial to his wife.
