The Geekbench listing doesn’t mention the chipset by name, but it’s paired with an Adreno 830 GPU and has a CPU clock speed of up to 4.32GHz. This points to the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm’s latest high-end processor, which has already been rumoured for this phone.
The listing also shows the phone packs 12GB of RAM and runs on Android 15. As for performance, the Xperia 1 VII scored 2,967 in the single-core test and 9,017 in the multi-core test. These scores match what we’ve seen from other Snapdragon 8 Elite devices, confirming that Sony is actively testing the hardware.
Previously leaked renders and hands-on photos have already given a closer look at the upcoming flagship.

Sony is sticking to its familiar tall design. The phone reportedly measures 161.9 x 74.5 x 8.5mm, and up to 11mm thick at the camera bump. It has a flat frame with all the buttons, including power, volume and a dedicated camera shutter, on the right side. Meanwhile, the left side remains clean.
Sony is keeping some fan-favourite features that other flagship brands have moved away from, like a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD/SIM slot. You’ll also find dual front-facing speakers, a USB-C port and a vertical triple camera setup on the back.
The main camera is expected to be a 48MP sensor with OIS. There’s also a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 12MP periscope telephoto camera that supports variable zoom between 70mm and 200mm.’
Sony hasn’t officially revealed a launch date for the Xperia 1 VII just yet. But now that both hands-on images and benchmark scores are making the rounds, an official announcement could be right around the corner.
