After the Samsung Galaxy Ring launch in July this year, many tech news portals and online tech enthusiasts speculated that the next Galaxy Ring will arrive around the same time next year. However, it is now being suggested that Samsung may be speeding up plans for its next-generation Galaxy Ring.
According to a recent leak from a Korean blog, the Galaxy Ring 2 might hit the market “a bit earlier” than originally planned. The source did not provide a specific launch date.
Here’s everything revealed in the recent leak.
As the Korean online platform Naver claimed that Galaxy Ring 2 is coming “a bit earlier than originally scheduled”, tech enthusiasts are now speculating about a possible launch time.
While launching alongside the Galaxy S25 Ultra in January could be an option, it also seems difficult considering how little time is remaining. Releasing it in July wouldn’t be much earlier than the first ring’s launch either. So, there’s speculation Samsung could be eyeing a launch window somewhere in between.
According to a recent Gizmochina report, hosting a standalone event just for the Galaxy Ring 2 doesn’t quite fit Samsung’s typical strategy. This makes guessing the exact timing a bit difficult.
Still, if the rumours of a sooner-than-expected launch are true, a January debut alongside the Galaxy S25 series might be possible.
The Korean leak didn’t only hint about an earlier launch but indicated what can be expected from the next-generation Galaxy Ring.
According to the leaker, the Galaxy Ring 2 is expected to offer some key improvements including a slimmer design, a better battery and ‘new features.’
However, no specific details have been shared yet.
The same Korean leaker also hinted at Apple’s interest in similar wearable tech.
Apple is reportedly developing its own ‘ring-type wearable’ while also exploring other similar devices like a band-style wearable and smart glasses. As per Gizmochina, Apple has also filed patents for both a smart ring and smart glasses, so these ideas are in line with previous reports.
However, the rumoured “band-type” device remains a bit mysterious—could it resemble something like a Whoop fitness band?
Since these are early rumours from unverified sources, it’s best to take this information with a pinch of salt. We still can’t confirm these plans will fully materialise.
