Samsung has revised its smartphone pricing strategy this week making notable changes across its portfolio. Starting May 1, the company has increased prices of several budget and mid-range Galaxy devices by ₹1,000 per variant. At the same time, Samsung has introduced limited-time discounts of up to ₹9,000 on its latest flagship and upper mid-range smartphones with these offers expected to remain valid until May 27.
This dual pricing move impacts both older and newly launched models. While price hikes affect the Galaxy M and F series, discounts are currently available on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57. Here are more details.
Samsung has increased the price of every variant of select Galaxy M and F series smartphones by ₹1,000 from their current selling prices.
The Samsung Galaxy M36 5G and Samsung Galaxy F36 5G highlight the most significant jump. Both devices were launched at ₹16,499 including a ₹1,000 bank discount and are now priced at ₹21,999. This reflects a total increase of ₹5,500, or roughly 33 percent without any changes in hardware.
Similarly, the Samsung Galaxy M17 5G has gone up from ₹12,499 to ₹16,999 marking a ₹4,500 increase. The Samsung Galaxy M17e and Samsung Galaxy F70e 5G have both seen a rise of ₹1,500 and are now priced at ₹15,499.
The Samsung Galaxy M06 5G has increased from ₹11,499 to ₹12,499, while the Samsung Galaxy F06 5G now costs ₹12,499 up from ₹9,499 reflecting a ₹3,000 increase.

| Samsung Galaxy M36 5G | Rs 16,499 | Rs 21,999 | Rs 5,500
|
| Samsung Galaxy F36 5G | Rs 16,499 | Rs 21,999 | Rs 5,500 |
| Samsung Galaxy M17 5G | Rs 12,499 | Rs 16,999 | Rs 4,500 |

| Samsung Galaxy F06 5G | Rs 9,499 | Rs 12,499 | Rs 3,000 |
Rising costs of memory and chipsets have been key factors with other brands also adjusting prices in a similar way. This pricing trend indicates a broader shift with budget 5G smartphones that were once priced under ₹10,000 are now moving beyond that mark.
On the other hand, Samsung has introduced attractive discounts on its latest flagship and mid-range devices. According to reports, these offers are time-limited and will run until May 27. The discounted prices have been verified across Samsung’s official website and major retail platforms like Amazon and Croma.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 12GB + 256GB variant is now available at ₹79,999 after an ₹8,000 discount, while the 12GB + 512GB model is priced at ₹99,999 with the same discount. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 12GB + 256GB variant has received a ₹9,000 price cut and is now available for ₹1,30,999. The 12GB + 512GB variant is priced at ₹1,50,999 after the discount, while the 16GB + 1TB model is listed at ₹1,80,999 but is currently out of stock.
In the mid-range segment, the Galaxy A37 8GB + 128GB variant is now available at ₹36,999 after a ₹5,000 discount. The 8GB + 256GB version is priced at ₹42,499, and the 12GB + 256GB variant costs ₹47,999. The Galaxy A57 8GB + 256GB is now priced at ₹49,999 after a ₹7,000 discount, while the 12GB + 256GB version is available for ₹55,499.
With these price cuts, the Galaxy S26 lineup becomes more competitive in the premium segment. The Galaxy S26 starting at ₹79,999 and the S26 Ultra at ₹1,30,999 position them as more appealing options for buyers considering a flagship upgrade.

| Samsung Galaxy A57 12/256GB | Rs 7,000 | Rs 55,499 |
Samsung’s approach of increasing prices on older budget models while offering discounts on newer flagship devices is interesting. While rising costs have pushed up entry-level smartphone prices across brands, the ongoing discounts on the latest Galaxy S26 series and A-series devices provide a strong incentive for buyers.
For those planning to upgrade to a flagship smartphone, the limited-time offer until May 27 presents a good opportunity. Discounts of ₹8,000 to ₹9,000 on recently launched devices are uncommon especially in a market where overall pricing trends are moving upward.
Meanwhile, buyers considering budget options like the Galaxy M36, F36, or M17 will need to factor in the revised prices. As for now, we can assume that these devices are unlikely to return to their original launch pricing anytime soon.
