Samsung is gearing up for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Series early next year and reports suggest we can expect a major AI-driven approach. Before the launch, the Korean brand is now in the middle of streamlining its One UI 7 update, which will be introducing AI-driven features with a stronger focus on user privacy.
The recently launched One UI 7 beta offers a sneak peek into these upgrades and how it aims to deliver a more personalised experience for Galaxy users.
In a recent announcement press note, Samsung revealed its plan to integrate AI more into the operating system itself. The press note titled “The First Step Towards True AI Companion” starts with “Imagine having less stress and more time. Picture getting the help you need before you have to ask. In the era of mobile AI, the freedom to focus on what matters most to you isn’t a dream, it’s reality — and it’s coming soon to Galaxy.”
Here’s a quick look at some of the discussed features.
One of the standout features is the Personal Data Engine, which promises enhanced on-device privacy and security.
Samsung explains in the press note that personal data will be stored securely within its security platform Knox Vault and will be protected by encryption keys. The system also has post-quantum cryptography tech for potential future risks from quantum computing advancements.
The new Now Bar feature is designed to streamline user interactions by placing frequently used apps and actions directly on the lock screen. It provides quick access to entertainment controls, fitness tracking, navigation and translation tools.
Moreover, the Now Bar is adding AI-powered insights. For example, it can offer travel tips like the best time to leave, personalised playlists, weather updates and summaries of daily activities. These features will make everyday tasks planning trips or managing daily routines simpler and more efficient.
Sharing some real-life situations, the press note explains, “Imagine you’re packing for a trip from Seoul, Korea, to San Jose, California. While you get ready, your phone offers a prompt to create a folder of your essential apps for quicker access. So you don’t miss your flight, it lets you know when it’s time to leave for the airport. It even provides a curated travel playlist to set the mood for your long flight.”
It also adds, “With a single swipe, you can access the weather forecast — no need to search or check various apps. Throughout your trip, your phone captures the magic of each moment, and as each day winds down, it helps you relive the highlights.”
The update is expected to roll out with the next-generation Galaxy S25 series, set to launch next month.
