Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A56 5G has just cleared another milestone securing its place on India’s BIS certification platform. After its appearances on China’s MIIT and TENAA certification databases, the BIS listing now confirms the device’s launch in India.
Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming smartphone.
The Galaxy A56 5G identified by the model number SM-A566E/DS was added to the BIS database on January 9, 2025. While the listing doesn’t reveal any technical specifications, it confirms that Samsung is preparing to bring this device to the Indian market.
Before this, the Galaxy A56 5G had already been spotted on the 3C, EMVCo and Geekbench databases, along with a recent listing on Samsung France’s support page.

According to the MIIT database and previously shared CAD renders, the Galaxy A56 5G retains Samsung’s familiar design language but introduces a new pill-shaped rear camera module. The device also features a key island on the right side panel similar to the Galaxy A26 5G and Galaxy A36 5G.
The Galaxy A56 5G is gearing up for its India launch with its BIS certification in place. Meanwhile, fans can expect more official announcements from Samsung soon.
