Samsung has officially introduced the Samsung Galaxy A17 4G, following the launch of its 5G variant last month. Unlike the Galaxy A17 5G, which features an Exynos processor, the 4G model comes powered by a MediaTek chipset. The only major difference between the Galaxy A17 4G and the Galaxy A17 5G is the processor. While the 5G version uses the Exynos 1330, the 4G variant is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G99. Weighing just 190g and measuring 7.5mm thick, the Galaxy A17 4G sports Samsung’s signature Key Island design on the right frame, which also houses the fingerprint sensor.
The new budget-friendly smartphone is priced at €199 in Germany and is expected to roll out soon across other European markets.
The Galaxy A17 4G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ for durability. The device also carries an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. Under the hood, it packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.
Out of the box, the phone runs Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7.0. Samsung has committed to providing six major Android and One UI updates for the Galaxy A17 lineup. The device also integrates Gemini as the default AI assistant, along with Circle to Search for quick information lookups.
For photography, the Galaxy A17 4G is equipped with a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 5MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera on the back. On the front, it houses a 13MP selfie shooter. Both front and rear cameras can record Full HD videos at 30fps.
The device offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage, expandable by up to 2TB via a microSD card. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.
