Redmi has officially entered the kids’ smartwatch market with its first-ever wearable for children in China. It isn’t a surprising move. While the global smartwatch market struggled in 2024 seeing a 7% drop in shipments, the kids’ smartwatch segment is booming. Packed with features, the Redmi Kids Smartwatch is now available for reservation on JD.com and will go on sale starting March 24 for 499 yuan (approx $69 or INR 5,976). Here’s all we know about the newly unveiled device.
The kid’s smartwatch sports a 1.68-inch display with a 360 x 390 resolution and 315 PPI pixel density, ensuring bright and clear visuals for texts, notifications, and educational content.

A 5MP front camera enables high-quality photos and smooth video calls, allowing parents to check in anytime and even see their child’s surroundings in real-time.
For seamless communication, it supports full-network 4G connectivity across all major Chinese carriers. Safety is a priority, with a nine-layer location tracking system combining GPS, Beidou, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, and AI positioning. Parents can access 90 days of location history and set up safety zones with instant alerts.
