Xiaomi has officially expanded its Turbo 5 lineup with the launch of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. The new model stands out with a large battery, a powerful new MediaTek chipset and a refreshed design language aimed at users who want flagship-grade features without a premium price tag. The new smartphone is currently available for purchase in China via Redmi’s official website. Here’s more on the smartphone, starting with price and availability.

Redmi Turbo 5 Max – Price and Availability in China

The Redmi Turbo 5 Max is already available for purchase in China. Pricing varies based on configuration and is listed as follows –

Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Turbo 5 Max in multiple colour options including Shadow Black, Ocean Blue, Cloud White, and Sunshine Orange. The colour names have been translated from Chinese. The Sunshine Orange has already been compared to the iPhone 17 Pro’s popular orange colour variant. The shade is similar and it is not difficult to infer that Redmi probably got inspired by Apple while choosing this hue.

Redmi Turbo 5 Max – Design and Display

The Redmi Turbo 5 Max features a large 6.83-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is capable of reaching up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness, ensuring good visibility even under direct sunlight. It also supports 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming along with DC dimming to minimise flicker and reduce eye strain, while Dolby Vision support enhances HDR content playback.

In terms of build, the smartphone comes with a CNC-machined metal frame and a fibreglass back panel. The rear design is highlighted by a dual-ring turbine-style light strip.

The device also carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance.

Powering the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. This processor is a slightly toned-down version of the flagship Dimensity 9500, with performance said to be on par with the earlier Dimensity 9400. The phone is offered with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 5.1 storage, allowing it to handle heavy multitasking and demanding games with ease.

The device runs Android 16 out of the box, layered with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 custom skin. Connectivity and hardware features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, an infrared sensor, and dual nano-SIM support.

For photography, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is equipped with a 50MP Light Fusion 600 primary camera featuring a 1/1.95-inch sensor. This is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens.

The main camera supports both optical image stabilisation (OIS) and electronic image stabilisation (EIS). Both rear cameras are capable of recording videos at up to 4K resolution at 60fps.

One of the biggest highlights of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is its massive 9,000mAh battery, making it one of the largest battery capacities ever seen on a Redmi smartphone.

The phone supports 100W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging, allowing it to be used as a power bank for other devices. Xiaomi claims up to 11 hours and 10 minutes of battery life, likely referring to screen-on time under specific usage conditions.
