Xiaomi has expanded its product lineup in China with the early listing of the Redmi Pad 2 SE 4G and the launch of the Redmi Buds 8. The announcements come just ahead of the brand’s scheduled launch event where multiple devices including the Redmi K90 Max and Redmi Book Pro (2026) are expected to debut. In any case, here’s everything we know about Redmi Pad 3 SE 4G and Redmi Buds 8 thanks to early listing.
The Redmi Pad 2 SE 4G features a 9.7-inch LCD display with a 2K resolution of 2048 x 1280 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel delivers up to 600 nits of brightness and carries TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light, flicker-free viewing and circadian-friendly usage ensuring a comfortable viewing experience.
The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 4G chipset built on a 6nm process. It is paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage alongwith support for expandable storage via a microSD card slot. On the software side, the device runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
For power, the Redmi Pad 2 SE 4G packs a 7,600mAh battery that supports up to 18W charging although Xiaomi includes a 15W charger in the box. In terms of audio, the tablet comes equipped with stereo speakers supporting Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos alongwith a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The device features an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera for basic photography and video calls. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual SIM 4G support. The tablet sports a metal unibody design measures around 7.4mm in thickness and weighs just over 400 grams.
The standard Redmi Pad 2 SE is priced at CNY 1,099 (about $160) for the 6GB + 128GB variant and comes in Dark Grey and Silver colour options.
The 4G variant is priced at CNY 1,399 (about $205) and is available exclusively in Silver.
Alongside the tablet, Xiaomi has also introduced its new pair of budget TWS earbuds, the Redmi Buds 8. The earbuds feature an 11mm dynamic driver and support the LHDC codec for enhanced wireless audio quality when used with compatible devices.
The Redmi Buds 8 offer active noise cancellation with an average noise reduction depth of 24.9dB and peaks reaching up to 50dB covering frequencies up to 4kHz. They include three levels of adaptive noise cancellation along with an automatic mode that adjusts based on the surrounding environment.
For calls, the earbuds use a triple-microphone setup supported by Xiaomi’s in-house AI noise reduction algorithm. Users also get customizable sound tuning through a five-level equalizer and personalised audio profiles.
In terms of battery life, the earbuds can deliver up to 11 hours of playback on a single charge without ANC or around 6.5 hours with ANC enabled. With the charging case, total playback extends up to 44 hours without ANC and up to 28 hours with ANC turned on. The case packs a 475mAh battery and charges via USB Type-C.
Connectivity is handled via Bluetooth 5.4 with support for SBC, AAC, and LHDC codecs and a range of up to 10 meters in open space. The earbuds are rated IP54 for dust and splash resistance although the charging case does not carry any rating.
Xiaomi has also included its Smart Connect feature enabling seamless device switching, audio streaming and notification playback across compatible devices.
The Redmi Buds 8 are priced at 229 yuan (approximately $34) making them an affordable alternative to the Redmi Buds 8 Pro launched earlier this year. They are available in Lime White, Cyan, and Dusk Black colour options and feature an in-ear design with each earbud weighing around 5 grams.
