Recent leaks have revealed some of what is initially expected to come with the upcoming Redmi Note 14 Pro—changes in the camera setup and design.
Famous Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station reveals in Weibo that Redmi is going to make significant changes to the popular mid-range smartphone line.
One of the most prominent changes claimed for the Redmi Note 14 Pro is stepping back from the 200 MP main camera in the predecessor.
That means this new model is likely to feature a 50 MP sensor, although that would technically be a step down by literal megapixel count.
The leaker suggests this new sensor might actually be bigger in size, which would probably net an overall improvement in image quality
The changes are also coming for the camera island design.
According to the leak, Redmi is going to have a cantered, ellipsoidal camera module, which resembles a lot of the designs being used by high-end flagships in China.
This change could give the Redmi Note 14 Pro a premium look.
However, if anybody was expecting the Redmi Note series to finally bring about the notion of a periscope zoom camera, then going by that leak, that won’t be happening with this model.
The Redmi Note 14 Pro should be coming with the same “1.5K” resolution display as the Note 13 Pro.
Further, the device is reported to feature a “double micro-curved” display, and quite literally, it’s not very clear from the machine-translated information about the nature of this design element.
Some industry watchers have said, citing evidence from model number patterns, that a Redmi Note 14 family may launch in China in September and hit other markets in November.
Such timelines are tentative and may change.
As with any kind of leak, do take this information with a pinch of salt until Redmi confirms.
The company itself has not spoken a word with regard to these rumours or even an official note about the existence of Redmi Note 14 Pro.
The Redmi Note 14 Pro is rumoured to feature a 50 MP main camera, which may offer better image quality despite having a lower megapixel count than its predecessor.
The new design is expected to have a centred, ellipsoidal camera module, similar to high-end flagship designs in China, giving the phone a more premium look.
The Redmi Note 14 Pro is reported to feature a “1.5K” resolution display with a “double micro-curved” design, although specific details about the display design are still unclear.
The Redmi Note 14 Pro is tentatively expected to launch in China in September and reach other markets by November.
