Redmi has officially introduced the new Redmi K90 series in China. Even though the spotlight of the launch event was the flagship Redmi K90 Pro Max, the standard Redmi K90 is equally impressive. Priced at around $350, the smartphone packs premium hardware and features that were once exclusive to high-end devices, including a 2K LTPO display, Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and Bose-tuned dual speakers. Alongside, the company also unveiled the Redmi K90 Pro Max Automobili Lamborghini Squadra Corse Champion Edition. Here’s everything about the new phones.
The Redmi K90 features a 6.59-inch TCL M10 2K LTPO display identical to the one used in the Xiaomi 17 series. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and reaches a stunning 3500 nits of peak brightness. Additionally, it offers 2560Hz PWM dimming for smoother visuals and better eye comfort.
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC coupled with Adreno 830 GPU, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage for blazing-fast performance. To manage heat efficiently, Redmi has included a 5300mm² three-step cooling system. The phone runs on HyperOS 3, Xiaomi’s latest software based on Android 16, ensuring a modern and optimised user experience.
In terms of optics, the Redmi K90 houses a 50MP Light Hunter 800 main sensor with OIS, paired with an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP 2.5x telephoto periscope camera. For selfies and video calls, it comes with a 20MP front-facing camera.
The device draws power from a massive 7100mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging, capable of easily lasting more than a full day of intensive usage. Despite packing a large battery, the device remains sleek at just 8mm thick and weighs 206 grams.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and an IP68/IP69 rating for water and dust resistance. It also comes equipped with a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking.
Audio has received a major boost as well with dual stereo speakers tuned by Bose for an immersive sound experience. The phone also includes a refined X-axis linear motor that enhances haptic feedback.
The Redmi K90 is available in four colour options, which include Light Purple, Aqua Blue, Black, and White. Pricing in China starts at 2,599 yuan for the 12GB + 256GB model and goes up to 3,999 yuan for the 16GB + 1TB variant.
