Xiaomi is set to expand its smart TV portfolio with the launch of Redmi Fire TV in India.
The company has announced on Twitter that Redmi Fire TV will make its debut on March 14.
However, the company is yet to confirm the specifications of the TV, the alleged features have surfaced online on the website ahead of the launch.
Meanwhile, the company has also teased the Redmi Fire TV on the Amazon e-commerce website.
There’s also a Notify me button which when clicked will notify the users when the launch takes place.
Xiaomi launched the F2 Fire TV in the global market last year.
The brand mostly has Android televisions in its portfolio. Now Xiaomi has officially teased the arrival of its Fire TV in India.
The company has not explicitly revealed that the upcoming offering will be powered by Fire OS but the teaser does give a hint.
According to a press release from Xiaomi, the company is gearing up to launch the Redmi Fire TV on March 14, 2023 in India. The launch event will go live at 12 PM IST on the aforementioned date.
After multiple teasers, Redmi India has confirmed the launch of the new Redmi Fire TV in India on March 14th at 12 PM IST.
This will be the company’s first smart TV in association with Amazon’s Fire OS. All other models from the brand run on Android TV OS.
Quite obviously, the TV will be sold on Amazon in addition to Mi platforms across the country.
There’s a dedicated microsite on Amazon India’s website, which revealed key details about the upcoming Redmi Fire TV.

The upcoming smart TV from Xiaomi is confirmed to be available on Amazon and the brand’s official website.
The image in the tweet shared by the company has a tagline ‘Who says entertainment can’t be fiery?’ The teaser also reveals the UI of the smart TV that looks similar to the UI offered by Amazon Fire Stick and Fire Stick 4K.
Another teaser shared by the company reveals thin bezels suggesting a higher screen-to-body ratio.
Apart from this, Xiaomi is yet to reveal more information.
Redmi Fire TV Specifications
The Redmi Fire TV is confirmed to feature Fire OS 7 skin that has smart hub control. The new remote control will have an Alexa shortcut instead of Google Assistant. Additionally, there will be quick launch buttons for Prime Video, Netflix and Amazon Music.
Some brands offering Fire OS TVs in India are Onida, Croma, AKAI, and Amazon.
It remains to be seen whether the upcoming Fire OS TV from Xiaomi will be the same as the Xiaomi F2 TV that debuted last year.
It comes in 43, 50, and 55-inch screen sizes bearing a 4K UHD resolution and HDR10 support.
The television is equipped with two 12W speakers with Dolby Audio and DTS Virtual:X.
It is powered by a quad-core A55 SoC coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage. The Xiaomi F2 runs on Fire OS 7 and packs a built-in Alexa.
The TV will have a metallic-bezel-less design, bottom-firing speakers, and AirPlay/Miracast support.
The Redmi Fire TV is rated to offer immersive audio and outstanding visuals. Connectivity options on the TV will include dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
Lastly, the Redmi Fire TV will come in eco-friendly packaging, where the box can be cut open to make a Mi Bunny storage unit. This was first introduced with the Redmi Smart TV X series in 2021.
