The Red Magic 9 Pro series, following its predecessor Red Magic 8 Pro, is set to launch soon.
Nubia, the manufacturer, has announced that this new series will be unveiled on November 23 at 2 pm Beijing time (11:30 am IST).
The Red Magic 8 Pro, launched in January, featured a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and a 6,000mAh battery with 80W charging.
Recent listings and leaks reveal the Red Magic 9 Pro is likely to upgrade to a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and include 12GB of RAM.
It’s also expected to run on an Android 14-based RedMagic OS.
Nubia’s President Ni Fei hinted in a Weibo post that the series would bring surprises in design, performance, battery life, and screen technology.
A notable feature expected in the Red Magic 9 Pro series is hidden under-display front cameras, leading to a notchless display design.
Another highlight is the introduction of a new ICE magic cooling system. This system is touted to be the first 3D ice-level VC heat dissipation system in the industry, aiming to enhance heat loss efficiency significantly.
The Red Magic 8 Pro was known for its ICE 11 system, which included a 20,000 RPM fan for increased airflow and the Cube Performance Optimiser for stable frame rates and efficient power usage.
The new series is expected to build upon these features, offering advancements in cooling and performance optimization.
While the Red Magic 8 Pro didn’t make its way towards Indian shores, there is anticipation that its successor could pave the way for Nubia to explore the country’s burgeoning gaming smartphone market.
