Realme has launched two new smartphones in the Chinese market called the Realme V50 and Realme V50s, which are part of the same series and share identical specifications.
The primary difference lies in their market positioning: V50 as a carrier variant and V50s as an unlocked version.
Both models show similarities to the Realme 11x, but with distinct camera specifications and charging capabilities.
The Realme V50 and V50s feature a 6.72-inch centered punch-hole LCD display.
These devices bring to the table an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, which is becoming increasingly important in modern smartphones.
Additionally, the peak brightness of 680 nits makes the display legible even under bright lighting conditions.
Under the hood, the Realme V50 and V50s are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus chipset.
The devices operate on Realme UI 4.0, which is based on Android 13 although an update to the Android 14 would not be too far off.
Camera capabilities in the Realme V50 and V50s include a dual setup on the back with a 13MP primary sensor complemented by a 2MP depth sensor.
For selfie enthusiasts and video call users, there’s an 8MP front-facing camera.
In terms of utility features, both models come equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, a 3.5mm headphone jack for traditional audio connectivity, and a MicroSD card slot for expandable storage.
The battery capacity is set at 5,000mAh, which should offer extended usage, and they support charging speeds of either 10W or 18W.
In more Realme news, the brand, which began as an OPPO offshoot, is gearing up for its next big release with the Realme 12 Pro series.
Recently, these upcoming models have surfaced on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website, hinting strongly at an imminent launch in India.
The lineup is expected to include two variants: the Realme 12 Pro and the Realme 12 Pro+.
These devices, bearing model numbers RMX3842 and RMX3840 respectively, have been registered on the BIS site.
Additionally, the Realme 12 Pro+ has made an appearance on Indonesia’s SDPPI certification platform, carrying the same model identifier, suggesting a broader Asian rollout.
