It appears Realme could soon introduce a new mid-range smartphone in India if all goes according to the recent tip. According to an online tipster, an upcoming Realme device is currently in development and is expected to bring a combination of a high refresh rate display and a large battery targeting the competitive 20K to 30K price segment. Here’s what we know about this device so far.
According to a recent post on X by tipster Debayan Roy, the Realme smartphone could be hitting the Indian market either under its P series or Narzo lineup.
The smartphone may feature a flat OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate that would be a notable upgrade in this segment. The device is also tipped to be powered by either the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset or the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor. For photography, it is expected to include a 50-megapixel primary rear camera.
One of the key highlights could be its massive 9,000mAh battery aimed at delivering extended usage. The phone is also said to come with an IP69 rating indicating strong resistance to dust and water.
If these leaked details hold true, Realme’s strategy appears to focus on bringing premium features like a 165Hz display into a more affordable price range. However, real-world performance will depend on optimisation, software support and final pricing.
The 165Hz display would make the device stand out in the mid-range category since 165Hz has largely remained limited to higher-end devices. The rumoured 9,000mAh battery aligns with a growing trend of larger battery capacities in mid-range smartphones. Realme has pushed boundaries further with models like the Realme P4 Power 5G and Realme Narzo Power 5G as both pack 10,001mAh batteries in India.
As for a chipset like Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 or Dimensity 7400, these would ensure the upcoming Realme device deliver upper mid-range performance.
In any case, these details are based on early leaks and the final specifications may change at launch.
