Realme has announced the launch of its new smartphone, the Realme GT5 Pro, will be on December 7th, 2023, in Shenzhen, China.
The device is quite notable for being one of the few devices on the planet to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and also for its integration of the IMX890 super-light periscope telephoto lens, developed in collaboration with Sony.
The Realme GT5 Pro’s telephoto lens, with its 1/1.56-inch sensor, is larger and more light-sensitive than its contemporaries, the OMNIVISION 64B and the Samsung ISOCELL JN1.
It is said to offer 3x optical zoom, OIS+EIS stabilization, all-pixel omni-directional focus, and edge-cutting technology.
The lens is designed to enhance photosensitivity significantly, especially in low-light conditions, and supports up to 120x super zoom.
In addition to its imaging capabilities, the Realme GT5 Pro utilizes Qualcomm’s third-generation Snapdragon 8 Mobile Platform, which enhances image processing speed and reduces power consumption.
The phone also features a super-core imaging heterogeneous computing framework, improving single-frame processing speed.
The device also introduces DOL-HDR in the telephoto segment, employing a 2×6+1 multi-frame selection strategy for improved dynamic range and clarity in varied lighting conditions.
Realme has collaborated with ArcSoft to further optimize the phone’s imaging technology.
This partnership aims to advance the phone’s flagship algorithms, including semantic perception, image quality enhancement, and computational lighting, to enhance the overall photography experience.
The Realme GT5 Pro represents a strategic cooperation between Realme, Qualcomm, and ArcSoft, focusing on improving the underlying architecture of imaging and telephoto capabilities.
As of right now, Realme has not revealed any plans of bringing the device to Indian shores.
However, noting the history of the company in the country, an official announcement is expected to be made available soon.
