The next wave of Android flagships is set to roll out from September with Xiaomi expected to kick things off. While details on that are still limited, Realme has officially confirmed that its own major release is coming soon. Here’s what we know so far.
Realme Vice President Wang Wei recently announced that the GT 8 series will debut in October. He had earlier teased that the lineup will feature a completely redesigned look and “will definitely have surprises.”

Those surprises may include flagship-grade hardware capable of competing with top Android brands. Both the GT 8 and GT 8 Pro are expected to run on Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (SM8850) chipset.
While most leaks so far have centred on the Pro edition, a new Weibo leak has shed light on the standard GT 8. Unlike the Pro’s rumoured 6.85-inch 2K OLED display, the GT 8 is tipped to have a smaller 6.6-inch flat screen. Despite its compact size, it could pack a massive 7,000mAh battery (approx).

The GT 8 series is also expected to introduce design upgrades over its predecessor and will run on Realme UI 7 based on Android 16. For the GT 8 Pro, reports suggest a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, an improved motor, dual speakers, a metal middle frame, and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor
Pricing may also see a bump. While the GT 7 Pro launched at 3,599 Yuan ($500), the GT 8 Pro is rumoured to start at 3,999 Yuan ($555).
