Realme is gearing up to unveil its Realme GT 8 series in October, and fresh leaks have revealed key specifications of the standard edition. According to Realme Vice President Wang Wei and tipster Digital Chat Station, the GT 8 will deliver Pro-level features in its regular model, making it a highly anticipated launch.
The Realme GT 8 is said to run on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, coupled with a dedicated display processor for improved performance. Early benchmark results revealed by tipster Digital Chat Show show the device scoring an impressive 3,322,942 points on AnTuTu, placing it among the highest-performing smartphones in the market.
Externally, the GT 8 is tipped to feature a frosted metal frame, a glass back, and rounded R-angle corners for a more refined look. It is also expected to support 3D ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, enhancing both speed and security. Reports further suggest the device may include a 7,000mAh battery and debut with Realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16.
According to other reports, the standard GT 8 is likely to use the same 2K resolution 144Hz OLED panel as the GT 8 Pro. It supports a global peak brightness of 2000 nits and introduces Realme’s 4000-nit sunlight display technology, which allows up to 20% of the screen to reach ultra-high brightness for outdoor visibility.
Additionally, it will feature Realme’s new tactile control chip with a 3200Hz instant touch sampling rate and 360Hz multi-finger sampling, aimed at improving responsiveness during gaming.
Meanwhile, Realme has officially confirmed that the Realme GT 8 Pro will feature a swappable camera module. It will offer three interchangeable designs including a round module, a square version, and an irregular robotics-inspired layout. Users will be able to detach and rearrange the modules, giving a level of personalisation rarely seen on smartphones.
The GT 8 Pro is also expected to include a 200MP periscope telephoto lens, referred to as the “Ultra Eye.” While other camera specifications remain undisclosed, this feature alone positions it as a strong contender in mobile photography.
Realme has confirmed that the GT 8 Pro will be India’s first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. However, it is still uncertain whether the standard Realme GT 8 will be available outside China.
