The Realme GT Series, known for its flagship-killing attributes, was first introduced by Realme in 2021.
Initially launched with the Realme GT featuring the Snapdragon 888 chipset, the series has been quiet in India since September 2022 with no new releases.
However, recent updates suggest a revival of the GT Series in India.
Francis Wong, the Head of Product Marketing at Realme, hinted on Twitter about a new GT device planned for release in India in 2024.
While the specific model remains unconfirmed, speculation points towards the Realme GT 5 Pro, which recently debuted in China.
The Realme GT 5 Pro stands out with its advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsetand boasts a triple rear camera setup.
It also features a 144Hz OLED display, setting a new benchmark for Realme’s device power.
In contrast, the last flagship from Realme in India was the Realme GT Neo 3T, launched in 2022.
Since then, the focus has shifted towards budget and mid-range offerings, with the Realme number series, C-Series, and Narzo lineup gaining traction in the Indian market.
Realme’s re-entry into the high-end segment comes as India emerges as a rapidly growing market for flagship devices, as reported by Counterpoint Research.
This move is set to offer more options to Indian consumers in the premium smartphone category.
