The rollout of the HyperOS update for the POCO F5 commenced on January 3 for beta users.
Himanshu Tandon, Country Head of POCO India, announced this major update with a tweet from his official X handle.
”Good news for POCO Fans, POCO F5 becomes the first device in India to get Xiaomi HyperOS.
It has started to roll out to beta users today and will be rolled out to a larger audience in the coming few days based on feedback from beta users.
The update is expected to reach regular users soon, following feedback from the beta testing phase,” he said.
The HyperOS update, version OS1.0.3.0.UMRINXM, is a substantial one, weighing around 4.9GB.
It incorporates the December 2023 security patch, reinforcing the device’s security framework.
The update’s changelog reveals several exciting features and enhancements:
POCO India is gearing up for a launch event on January 11, where the POCO X6 5G and POCO X6 Pro 5G are set to debut.
As mentioned above, these upcoming models are likely to feature HyperOS based on Android 14, right out of the box.
Alongside the POCO F5, Xiaomi is also extending the HyperOS update to its own devices.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 6 users in India will receive the HyperOS update alongside the POCO F5.
Today Redmi launched the Redmi Note 13 series which already has HyperOS in China but for India, the company is still keeping MIUI.
